According
to the UK's CJD Surveillance unit
in Edinburgh University, CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) is an illness
which exists in different forms. These forms are essentially
distinguished by the cause of the illness in each case. However, in
addition, the symptoms and course of the illness tend to be relatively
different in the different forms. Also, the neuropathological features
(what one sees under the microscope) tend to be different in the
different forms.
