There may be other magazines on the market, but this
is the first we have seen available on the newsagent shelves. It covers a
range of subjects, most of which are dealt with positively, such as its
features on sports activities for people with disabilities. Worth a
look, at £1.95 and comes out every two months. A copy is in the Nerve
Centre if you want to try before you buy. Their website
is fairly new and is not quite finished, but has many useful links on
holidays, short breaks, sports facilities, powered scooters, chairlifts,
right issues etc and the July/August issue has an interesting cover,
reminiscent of that famous Women's Institute calendar....say no more....!!

This link shows the Department of Health's strategy
for dealing with people affected by long-term conditions, mainly focussing
on neurological conditions. It will only apply in England as Scotland has
its own devolved Health department. The NSF is due to be published
in 2004, and to be implemented by 2005. Maybe time to campaign for a
Scottish equivalent?
