We have received the following letter from Helen Westerman, Head of
Community Services with the Parkinson's Disease Society:
6 March 2003
Appointment of new PDS staff for Scotland
As you know, David McNiven recently took up a new
position as Senior Policy Advisor for the Society, leaving a vacancy for
the Scotland Manager post. The vacant post was advertised both
internally and externally and all applicants went through a rigorous
selection process. We were pleased to involve a representative
from the branches in Scotland in the shortlisting and interview process.
I am very pleased to inform you that we have been
successful in recruiting a new Manager for Scotland. Richard
O'Grady has been appointed to the Manager's position and will start
formally in his new role on Monday 10th March.
We have also been recruiting for a Development
Worker for covering the Northern part of Scotland and am pleased to be
able to inform you that Len Ironside has been appointed to this
position. Len is currently working as a welfare visitor for the
Aberdeen area and will start in his new role on Monday 31st March, based
from his home in Aberdeen.
Richard and I are now keen to complete the team by
recruiting the second Development Worker for Southern/Mid Scotland and
this post will be advertised shortly.
I am sure you will join me in congratulating
Richard and Len and wish them every success in their new roles.
If you have any queries regarding any of the
above, please don't hesitate to contact me.
With best wishes
Helen Westerman
Head of Community Services
