Volunteers are an essential part of the running of The Nerve Centre.  If you think that you would like to join the dedicated team of volunteers then you should contact us.

You should be conscientious, a good listener, able to think for yourself, able to share your experiences where relevant, and recognise that people affected by neurological disorders often have reason to request privacy, confidentiality and sensitivity.  You should be prepared to be security checked and provide character references.  But once that process is over, all we ask is that you offer perhaps only two hours per week to help someone else find an answer, a useful contact, an address, a phone number, a listening ear or just let them be themselves in a friendly non judgemental atmosphere.

Your contribution is only paid with a thank you, appropriate training, support from a dedicated Committee and at least one free cup of tea or coffee each time you come in!  But the rewards can be more valuable than money.
